Zsolnay is world famous for its Eosin glaze. This Luster glaze is in line with famous makers such as Loetz, Tiffany, Massier. Around 1900, this mysterious colorful effect was very suitable for depicting the mystical beauty and primal power of nature. This effect was known from dragonflies, scarabs, insects and butterflies, and these were also popular. Here the colors work perfectly together with the almost abstract growth decor that represents rudimentary stems and leaves.
