The most famous model vase by Edmond Lachenal. Inspired by Chinese examples, this vase is decorated with two branches of bamboo. The thick black opaque glaze contrasts with the azure blue transparent glaze. The difference in thickness of the blue glaze layer and the nonchalance (complete with splashes) with which the glazes are applied create a painterly effect that makes the vase extra lively.
