Kukeleku, that's how the rooster crows! That makes you happy. This proud rooster is blaring in all its hand-painted color. The corncob on its legs is also a vase. This barbotine statue was made by Jerome Massier in Vallauris, the famous ceramic village in southern France, where ceramics already came from in Roman times. The Massier family has produced a number of great ceramic artists, the most famous of which are Jerome, Delphin and Clement. Barbotine is not a hard ceramic type. Small damages are normal for barbotine that is more than a hundred years old. These have been restored on this rooster.
