The sculptor is Pierre Le Faguays, who has signed here with his pseudonym; Fayral. The statue was cast in the Parisian foundry of his colleague and friend, Max le Verrier. The casting stamp is from the 1930s. A beautiful balancing act in which the spaciousness of the movement is striking. Every direction is used. The circles of the cymbals form a kind of counterweight for the lines of the arms and legs. It is a predecessor of Alexander Calder's mobiles.
Last image is from Max le Verrier's original catalogue, which came out after he won the Gold Medal for Decorative Arts at the Paris Exhibition in 1925; Exposition of arts, decorative and industrial.
