Loetz glass is renowned for its iridescent reflective metal oxide effects. Comparable to a thin layer of oil on a puddle of water. This effect also fit perfectly with the spirit of the times around 1900. There is something mysterious and magical about it. The fact that this glass also required a lot of craftsmanship with manually fused glass threads and free-form models makes them still sought after and breathtaking today. This decor by Loetz is called Formosa.
