Stylish art deco sculpture by Pierre Le Faguays from 1926, signed with his pseudonym Fayral. The statue represents an Ondine; a mythological water nymph. She represents the gentle mysterious soul of water. It is special how the artist was able to create so much subdued dynamics and movement in this stately and static pose. The stylization tends towards the cubist and primitive, but, as usual with Pierre Le Faguays, remains close to classical naturalistic beauty.
