Very large and exceptional vase by Anton Mehlem for Royal Bonn. made around 1900. Unique hand-painted landscape vase signed Schönau. We see a landscape with birch trees and a moody evening sky painted in the wet clay. in the foreground is a solitary plant that is enameled with gilded contour lines, creating even more depth between the landscape in the background and the flower in the foreground.
