This vase by Emile Gallé features the decor "Glysines", or wisteria. Opalescent glass with a purple overlay and a gradient yellow underlay. Rich in contrast and bright in color. This decor runs from top to bottom in a beautiful rhythm. The colors purple and yellow are opposite of each other, making the vase very expressive.

Emile Gallé is one of France's greatest and best-known glass artists. Co-founder of the Ecole de Nancy, an artists' collaboration that made Nancy one of the absolute capitals of Art Nouveau at the turn of the century. In addition to being an artist and entrepreneur, Gallé was also a botanist, and this is reflected in all his designs. The plant and insect world enters the house with his works of art.
