Early vase by Clement Massier, dated 1887. It is clear that Massier was inspired by Persian and Moorish ceramics with metallic glazes. We also see this in the design of the vase. Clement Massier became world famous for developing these so-called reflets metallique glazes. These vases were purchased around 1900 by museums all over the world, including the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
