At Rambervillers in the Vosges they made ceramics with a metal effect luster glaze. This produces beautiful color effects and light reflections. This model was designed and signed by Louis Majorelle, which makes this vase extra special. The decor is ferns. But not a realistic image of ferns, but more the organic structure and inflorescence of the fern. It is as if Majorelle wanted to capture the character and soul of the fern, above and beyond its outward appearance.
