Clement Massier is the master of the luster glaze. He started his first experiments in 1865. In 1887 he was proud to present his collection of reflets metallique ceramics. He won a gold medal at the World Exhibition in Paris. In the best case, as with this vase, the complicated and fragile technique leads to a spectacular, colorful, painterly and magical result.
